Neighbor with a green thumb

I must say, having my sister live right down the street has been a treat! Or IS a treat. I am becoming especially fond of her green thumb talents that seem to be spreading into my little dwelling more and more.

Two weeks ago she gave us sunflower seeds to plant. We usually just like eating them but we buried 5-6 in the tiniest pot of soil and within days they sprouted. Everyone, including the girls, R, my sister and myself were excited to see the green sprouts. Then a few days later leaves opened up. Sunflower seeds sprout like weeds apparently. As you can see my thumb is not green at all.

My sis replanted them today! I've had small teacups sitting on my kitchen windowsill for months. After one of the delicate handles broke I was unsure of what to do with them. But, leave it up to my sister. She had the brilliant idea to replant my sunflower sprouts in them.

They look great and have more room to grow.

I am not sure if their tiny stems will support them enough to become a flower or not. But, I am willing to water them and wait to see what happens.

Thanks sis! For sharing your green thumb with me!

Keep Loving.
