Water bottle season

It's Friday evening, 7:45. As our routine usually goes this is about the time E brushes her teeth, picks up her blankie and goes to bed. But I look outside and it's still light out. How in the world will E go to sleep when she doesn't think it's na-night time? The days are getting longer. Spring is finally here.

Luckily E's room has shades and curtains. Her body is definitely ready for bed. I see all the signs for sleep; including a big yawn. So it's a battle with the tooth brush, a frantic search for her blankie and off to bed. She's out like a light by 8:05.

7:45 AM

The first thing I hear before I even realize I am awake is small chitter chatter coming from E's room. I force open my tired eyes, all though this is technically sleeping in for me, and go to get E out of her crib. She's laying out her belly with her arms propping up her head. She's talking to Elmo and Pooh Bear who are sitting across the room. When did she get so big?

I grab her a morning snack and get to work on the kitchen. E is watching The Magic School Bus. R and M are still fast asleep. As I am standing at the sink washing the dishes that wouldn't fit in the dishwasher I realize there are FOUR water bottles sitting on the counters and in the sink. I almost forgot about all these colorful things. Spring is finally here. The days of filling water bottles for soccer games, trips to the park and hours of fun outdoors is here. Cheers to water bottle season.

5 things.

5 things:

1. Octoberfest is already out on grocery store shelves. Are you serious?! Yes. I am. Which mean Edee's birthday is getting closer, and my 2 year anniversary, and leaves falling and that crisp fall smell...all right around the corner. It's hard to believe I know. That's why I will just keep denying it and refusing to buy Fall beer or Apple Cider or caramel or....

2. Edee has allergies. Instead of just following her around the house I am now chasing after her with tissue in hand to try to catch the river running down her face before it gets to her mouth. Neither of us really cares for the wiping nose process. As soon as I attempt to wipe she viciously shakes her head and smears the "eewies" all over. And in attempt to escape the tissue monster she blows out through her nose and more eewies appear. It's is not fun and allergy season is NOT fun.

3. I am looking forward to baking this Christmas. Yes, even though I am denying that Fall is right around the corner I am thinking about Christmas already. (It doesn't make sense, I know.) Mostly, because we are planning ahead this year but also because Ryan's Mom will be here for the first year EVER! And also, I've heard too many stories about her peanut butter balls and other Christmas goodies. We are going to be baking ALL season! Even though I am not a fan of cooking I can do baking and I might have even started a list of goodies I want to make.

4. We are getting closer to buying a house. I want to say: that's all I'm going to say but I have to add that I am sitting on the edge of my seat trying to contain my excitement!

5. I am crocheting with a wool yarn I picked up at one of the local thrift stores. It was 99 cents for the whole scain. It is called Autumn sunset. Oh there's that time of year creeping up on me again. But, I couldn't hesitate not to buy the orange, fuchsia, magenta, plum blended beauty for less than $1.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Keep Loving.
