And my streak of good days continues. (Not to brag.) But when the forecast called for a week of rain I was worried my mood might have been as dreary as the weather outside. On the contrary, I've been feeling brighter than normal.
My day started with a rather good nights rest. Lil Miss E only woke up twice! Which allowed me to sleep a four hour stretch, followed by a 3 hour stretch. For some of you that might sound crazy. For others, you know exactly how it feels to get a consistent 4 hours of sleep. Amazing. So I hopped out of bed this morning and readied myself for the day as Edee slept in just a little longer.
I was lucky enough to pull Cooper out of bed this morning too. I love the way babies are in the morning; sluggish, sleepy and sweet. How their eyes are barely open and when they finally are they welcome the day with a big smile. They are always happy to see you.
We finally spent some long awaited time with Miss Maddi today. She spent spring break with her mom. So we've really missed her. Our time with her today was spent reading about ocean life, playing yahtzee and giggling about hairy butts. Yes, hairy butts. Is anyone else's 8 year old obsessed with this word?? Because ours is.
However, she's still as silly and smart as the last time we saw her. We were all glad to see one another today. Maddi couldn't stop hugging Edee. And for the very first time she told Edee she loves her. These things show me that Maddi missed us as much as we miss her on the days we don't see one another. We can't wait to attend her soccer game this Saturday.
The last part of my good day #3 was spent sitting beside my hubby, listening and talking about our day and our tomorrows. I'm so thankful for these moments. For the brightness on a rainy day. For someone to talk to, for someone who listens, for him.
Keep loving.
