I FINALLY had a midwife appointment that didn't get rescheduled. Hip hip hooray! It was 2 weeks behind schedule due to 16 babies delivered in June and 19 scheduled to deliver this month. Amazing, right? I think so. I can't be too upset about an overdue appointment when their were so many successful deliveries. All the more practice the midwives are getting before my delivery. :)
The appointment went really well. I've gained another 7 pounds. Which is another hip hip hooray! Will it ever not be strange to me that gaining weight is a good thing? Note to sister: it is weird but it is GOOD. So keep eating. ;)
And with weight comes size. My belly is 29 centimeters. According to the midwife I'm right where I need to be. Except, I'm on iron supplements now. Technically I'm anemic because my iron levels are so low. I suppose I'm okay with taking 1 supplement as long as I know its helping. I know I definitely can't eat enough to supply my body with as much iron as I and the baby needs so I've got to get it from somewhere else.
The best part, of course, was hearing the babies heart beat. This part always makes me smile ear to ear. Not that its not a reality already but hearing her heartbeat brings to life that I will have a daughter soon. And it is so exciting.
I also held a model of a baby at 30 weeks. I was amazed at how big it was. All the kicks and punches sure make sense now. I'm still trying to figure how she fits inside my belly. It really is a miracle.
My appointments will now be every 2 weeks. I also have to schedule birthing classes this week. As well as organize Maddi's room to get ready for the baby. Especially because my baby shower is Saturday. And this deserves a hip hip hooray! Then, we're ready...I think.
Shew!! It's going by fast. Which I'm not to concerned with. As the days go by I feel more and more confident that I (or should I say we?) can do this. Being pregnant as really helped me learn to take one step at a time. I'd like to keep this going once the baby arrives in hopes of lighten stressful times. Hmm?... We shall see.
Keep loving.
How exciting, Karlee! Those birth classes sound fun. :) I wanna know how they go!
