Yesterday was our first day at the gym.
First off we got a fabulous deal at Anytime Fitness. $1 to join for 1 month. Weight lifting, cardio work out equipment, free tanning, 24/7, yoga balls AND by the 21st they will have 10 different classes a week. Of which include: kick boxing, yoga, pilates, cardio, zumba! Yay! Do I sound like a sales girl or what? (Maybe Ryan's sales techniques are rubbing off.) ;)
Well, yesteray was a complete success. I started with a short ab workout and did a few leg lifts and crunches, which I absolutely loathe. Then I biked for 2 miles and used the eliptical for 10 minutes. Time flew by because I was enjoying great conversating with my sister who was elipticalling away right next to me. We were sweating like 2 pigs. Ryan is working on building up muscle after not working out for such a long time. His focus is chest and stomach muscles and then calves as well.
And today....my body hates me! I was purely energetic yesterday. I felt amazing after a 45 minute workout. I felt like I pushed myself pretty well. I was definitely on top of the world. A co-worker even said I was ALL SMILES last night. And I was. I was still bouncing off the walls at midnight last night when Ryan finally said, "Babe, I have to go to sleep."
But today, shew! I am sipping a coffee to keep from falling asleep. My eyes feel like they are going to slap shut, my ribs and abs are soar and if I move a certain way they really burn. So I pushed myself more than I thought. In fact, I feel like I kicked my own butt. I guess I can't complain because I feel so accomplished and good about working out. That feel good pain won't last forever. I will be sure to stretch tonight and extra tomorrow before and after my workout.
I am so thrilled to be doing something with Ryan (and Trina). I feel like we definitely could use a positive focus. Just another goal to make hard times easier!
