I love Grand Haven. The city I randomly landed in 6 years ago has me head over heels as I gaze down washington avenue. The leaves are now falling off the trees and the sky has taken on a sad shade of grey. But I am still so in love with and inspired by this town I call home.
Keep loving.
And for so many reasons.
How could I not love being in a place where the people are nice, creative, talented and unique? I just realized today, Ive made a friend in the coffee shop guy.
I didn't always appreciate Coffee Grounds. I had a major sweet tooth when I moved to Grand Haven and the slightly bitter taste of their espresso didn't suit my fancy. I really enjoy their coffee now. It might have to do with the fact that the small ordinary shop is directly across from my place of work. Or maybe I have changed a bit. I frequent the location with knowledge that I have a long day before. And thats how Kevin, the coffee guy became a familiar face.
And what makes a town home? Familiar face.

I have to rave about the shops. Yet, another amazing feature Grand Haven has to offer. These shop owners are, in my eyes, lucky. Lucky to own any kind of space to turn into their own magical place. Lucky to have grand haven locals as consistant shoppers. And what is a town without the buildings and amazing stores full of awesome things to touch, see and wear?
Speaking of wearing awesome things: I had a fitting today at Lee & Birch for a Fall Fashion show tomorrow evening. I have modeled for them before and loved the experience. And wow, trying on skinny jeans, fancy shirts and leather boots today made me feel happy and so lucky too. The smooth fitting jeans, a deep maroon scarf and a tweed coat to top it off had my heart dancing through the store.
I can't help to mention that Grand Haven is the town that will forever be the place I met the man I married. Or that enjoying the beach, the pier, a pizza at Kirby or a beverage at Pavilion are all our favorite things to do. We share a love for this city.
It is experiences like finding your true love, a fashion show fitting and a hello from the coffee shop guy that have me looking around as I cross Washington Avenue and realize the gems Grand Haven has to offer.
This is our place. And we are happy here.
Keep loving.
Such a great story! Mike and I feel the same way about Grand Haven. :)Have fun with the modeling!
