Needless to say the past few days and ofcourse the weekend have been very busy for the both of us. Hence the decrease of blog posts.
But, good...no great things are happening as a result of staying motivated, positive and keeping in mind that we need to take advantage of every day. We need to make the best of our time before and after work. (Advice from my chica Stephanie.)
Tomorrow I have an appointment with the florist. Which I am VERY excited about. I have 2 prospects and have begun to narrow down what I am looking for in a bouquet, centerpiece, colors, style, etc. and what we can afford. I am looking forward to this part. I'm not a flower fanatic in any way but the floral shops and green houses in Grand Haven smell amazingly fresh. They are just so beautiful. So I am just looking forward to tomorrow.
Ryan and I also made a joint checking/ savings account. This a very BIG step. For me more so than him. He seems rather accepting and relaxed about this decision. Maybe this is so important to me because finances aren't really my strong point. Luckily they are his and thank goodness my future husband is good with numbers. (Accounting major actually).
We've decided we will keep a ledger together, bring home receipts each evening, sit down and budget in our spendings. It will definitly take practice and time to make it a habit but
I'm crossing my fingers our plan will work out.
beginning to track spending together can be really difficult...but in the end, it brings a lot of things in perspective for the both of you as a couple. It is definitely something that you'll get used to, and you'll find that by having another person help you manage your spending, you will actually save a lot of money! Good luck! It's a transition, but well worth it.
