The Fun YMCA.

Despite our car troubles and other stressful situations in the Miller house, we packed towels, goggles and swimsuits, then headed over to the YMCA. I can't believe we've never been there as a family. We had 2 hours of fun and exercise.

Swimming in a pool is something E has never experienced. I wasn't quite sure how she would respond to a HUGE bathtub. If she could've touched the bottom I'm sure she would have been all over the place. Instead she clung to me like a baby chimpanzee. Eventually she wanted to go places and would point in the direction she wanted to go. Only once did she move her arms in a paddling motion. Which, for a first timer, I think that's pretty good.

R and M swam laps, dove to the bottom of the pool and played water basketball. I think they would've swam all day if they could've. But, E's chattering teeth started to worry me so we exited the pool area and went to play at the play place. The Y has such a nice set up! There were several different activities for all different age groups. M helped E through the indoor playground, up to the top and down the slides. While E occupied herself with building blocks M and I  built a castle out of padded gym equipment. I enjoyed this. The obstacle course in gym class were my favorite growing up. Good memories.

As you can see, E is still very into her blocks.

She fell asleep before we left the parking lot.

I realize now it is important to take time for things like this. We always try to do crafts, outdoor activities, movie nights, etc. But doing something new and a little out of our ordinary routine is a treat. I recommend planning a family fun day. There's nothing like good, clean fun.

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Keep loving.
