Weekend Bliss

Weekends are so exciting. So refreshing. When the sun rises (or Edee coo's and caa's) I'm up without any effort, with a little spring in my step. There is just something great about having TWO full days to be with my family. Even if it there are a few chores mixed in.

Did I mention the sun is SHINING?! That too must have something to do with the light, fresh feeling I have had this weekend.

Working 5 days a week has made me much more appreciative of weekends. No dropping Ryan off at work. No waking up a sleeping baby to put her in and out of a car. No work. It makes me smile.

So this weekend I didn't have anything major planned. I wanted to catch up on laundry and enjoy the weather with my family. And I did both.

I took Ryan to a place called ReStore. He'd never been before. It's a big building full of resale items. When I say items I mean anything you need to DIY your home. Tiles, door knobs, pipes, light fixtures, etc. You never know what you will find. Kind of like thrift stores and antique stores, which I LOVE.

Originally I didn't plan on buying anything. We have been searching for a desk and a filing cabinet. (Part of Mission: Organization) So I thought we might get lucky and score something at a good price. Wellll, one thing led to the next and we both were feeling inspired by all of the different random items  and great prices. So we bought 3 pieces of wood; finished in a dark brown color, a white shelf, 3 decorative ledge type things and screws. AND...we are building a desk. So far it is turning out pretty neat. I think our purchases were worth it. I'll have to post photos when it is complete.

Our friends Sarah and Ben and their 6 month old Jackson came over for a visit yesterday. We grilled out and played with the lil ones for a couple hours. Catching up with them is always enjoyable. I talk so much I get light headed and have to slow down. ;) I'm just so excited to have another small family to hang out with. I have a feeling Edee and Jackson will grow up together.

Today, Ryan went to the driving range. He has a golf outing for work coming up and feels he needs practice. I myself would rather play mini golf or ride in the go-cart. I don't really do sports but I am very glad he does. Edee and I took a walk with Trina and Cooper instead. Which allowed me to accomplish my second goal to enjoy the weather this weekend.

We all snuck in a few good naps as well.

It's been a perfectly good weekend.
Keep loving.
