The rain continued to soak our little town today. But the Spring showers didn't stop me from enjoying my day off as I planned.
Edee and I slept in just a little bit this morning. She never sleeps passed 9:00. Which feels like sleeping in when the alarm is usually set for 7:35.
Our first to-do was a quick venture to Muskegon. My sister had an errand to run so we went along for the ride. Luckily it was a successfully quick trip and we were back by noon.
My new Mommy friend, Sarah, and her son Jackson, who is 15 days younger than Edee came to visit today. Now I know why there are things called Mommy groups. I'm kicking myself for not joining one sooner. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with her and my sister about all the things Moms talk about. Knowing her daily ups and downs aren't much different than my own makes me feel like I'm doing okay with the whole Mom bit. Having common ground to stand on feels comforting and exciting. I hope she feels the same.
And watching the lil ones interact is so neat. Edee wanted to grab Jackson's hair, pants, foot, face, whatever she could reach really. Luckily Jackson is a complete gentlemen and wasn't bothered by her at all. I love to see another chubby cheek smile. Lil Cooper slept almost the whole time. He is still at the age of giving his Mommy a bit of a break in the middle of the day.
The babies did so well while we visited. Up until Edee took a nice sharp bite of my finger. And yes, cut her first tooth. She's been a bit of a handful since. Actually, this explains the tearful cries and napless morning earlier in the day. I'm just surprised she didn't seem bothered or fussy before today. Tough girl, I guess. We shall see how the night goes.
So, all in all, it was a good day off. I didn't clean a single thing or unpack a single box but hey, we all need a little me time every once in awhile.
Keep loving.
