It is already Tuesday. I can't believe the week is already 2 days in and I haven't written in 3 or 4 days. Eek! Well, I started writing about the weekend and I'll somehow make a quick summary of the passed couple days. So read on my friends, read on.
I have to say this weekend was rather successful. It was Ryan and I's weekend to have Maddi. It feels like it has been too long since I've seen her. Or maybe I just feel that Christmas break we were rather spoiled spending an entire week with her. I miss her more and more everyday. Im so thankful for the days we do get to see her and glad she gets to spend time with her Daddy on Wednesdays, even though I'm at work.
Having Friday off worked out really well too. I was able to pick up Maddi at the usual time. We celebrated her birthday, rather late but very fun and also successful. We had a kid friendly dinner of mac-n-cheese, apples and peanut butter and lady bug cupcakes. (okay, maddi thought they were smiley faces.)
Ali and my sister helped decorate with streamers and balloons. The house looked pretty neat! Ali even pitched in and got fun favor bags for all the kids!
I needed a glass of wine after all the screaming, giggly kids but my very first kids bday party was a great turn out!
Saturday brought a morning of snow covered hills. That only means one thing to the Millers (and friends): SLEDDING. We bundled up head to toe in our winter gear, grabbed our sleds and tromped over to Duncans Woods. Check out the fun pics below. It was a blast! We couldnt have asked for better weather. White washes, sled ramping and spinning all the way down the hills. Even though our tube popped and Ryan broke the saucer we got a lot of sled time in. An experience thats been missed. Sledding really brought out the kid in us.
Sunday:
Pancakes for breakfast by the one and only Chef Ryan. Maddi and I did the mixing and Ryan flipped the hot cakes! Then he scooted off to work leaving Maddi and I with nothing but girl-time on our hands. What a lazy afternoon we spent together, Which was much needed after Saturday sled day. We played a few games and watched a movie. So relaxing.
I have to mention how proud I am of my bonus girl. She listened very well all day on Sunday and was the most pleasant young lady waiting for her Dad to pick her up from my work. She even helped me set up the dining room with the correct place settings. Such a great helper.
Monday:
Pleasent day. Work has been good. This week I am full time in the Grand and rather enjoying it too. BIG NEWS: I also had a meeting with a freelance client. (Something I havent done in about a year.) And I am so pumped! For so many reasons. I feel a new door has been opened and there are all these wonderful things inside. It feels so good to be back on the path I so badly wanted to be on all last year. You can rest assure there will be more to come about freelance work.
And today...
It has been a long day. The passed couple days Ive been giving up naps. Poor baby, right? Well, a nap everyday makes my nights at work much more managable. However, I modeled for ttenden, fnished a hat, and put in a full days work. Thats definitely a pat on the back for me!
Hope all my fellow bloggers are doing well and made it through this lengthy update!
Keep loving.
