A(new)ther year

It feels a little late for a new years post but in fact it is only a day late. I've been a little troubled by the whole new year thing this time around. The whole ballbdrop, resolutions, changes for the better is difficult for me. This new year's eve I didn't jump on the band wagon, throw confetti or toot any horns.

In fact, this year Ryan made our resolution for us. I was kind of surprised when he piped up and said, "let's get a gym membership." Or rather he said his new years resolution is to join a gym and start working out. I said I'd join too! I don't mind working out and staying fit. It is, however, much easier to be motivated when someone is beside you sweating their butt off too.

But, our "changes for the better" happen more than just once a year. So, it doesn't seem so impossible to set a new goal or try something new. And if you look at a resolution as a new goal or opportunity you might just find it easier to accomplish. You might even stick with it longer than surveys say (12 days on average).

We're also focusing on keeping a cleaner apartment and getting everything organized. Or maybe thats just me. I enjoy a tidy living space where everything has its place.

Another major focus is budgeting and saving money. Soon enough we'd like to be in our own home and start a family. We know it won't happen without a plan.

Even if I am not 100% excited and hyped about the new years eve occasion I am ecstatic about saying good bye to a crazy 2011 and spending another year with Ryan, learning more and developing as a couple.

So here's to the new year. Cheers!

Keep loving. And celebrating life.
