Falling for her

We've been blessed this month. I've lost track of all the days Ryan and I have been able spend with Maddi. I forget that Summer means no school. And no school means sleep overs in the middle of the week! Therefore we see Maddi Wednesday, Thursday and then Friday through Sunday every other weekend.

And I have to say this 3 1/2 ft lanky girl with her long blonde hair is such a gem. I'm never disappointed by her smarty pants replies and silly sayings.

And I cant even begin to explain how smart she is. Sometimes I run out of things to say in response to her questions. But I try to keep her as entertained as possible. Ryan and I are always coming up with new games and things to do, to make our times with her as meaningful and fun as possible. Plus, with such an energetic child we might go mad if we didn't keep her busy.

About 2 years ago a shared an apartment with a really close friend. He had an adorable 2 year old daughter. Being around her and waking up at 1 AM to put her pacified back in her mouth made me realize that I could indeed love a child that isn't 100% "mine." It was then, without realizing, that I prepared myself for falling in love with a great person who indeed has a wonderful daughter.

And the more I love Ryan the more I fall for Maddi.
