All About You at 5 Years Old

You are 5 years old now. As I write this I am still amazed that 5 years disappeared just like that. I'm so thankful for technology because we will always have the memories, videos and photos of your first 5 years.

I keep saying you are complete mix of your Mommy and Daddy, which of course you are but the more time passes the more we see us in your personality. You're busy, silly and sometimes wild like you're Daddy. Other times you're sweet, sensitive and always creative like me.

You keep us guessing what will happens next which makes life with you exciting.

You are still a very determined little girl. Your ideas are as strong as your determination.

There's not a day that goes by that you don't draw, color or write. You love using my special fine tip markers and I can't help but let you. I love seeing your creativity bloom.

You get music, which I knew since you were 9 months old bobbing your head in the backseat. You pick up lyrics and beats so quick and know the latest and greatest hits on the radio before I even know the artist.

You like going on bike rides, playing with small toys like Hatchimals, LOL Dolls and Shopkins. We can't always find the pieces but we're working on picking up toys when we're done playing so we can find the small pieces later.

You're afraid of the dark. You scream "gotta go potty!!" at the top of your lungs as you dance and hop around because you wait until the last minute every time. I have to run to the bathroom with you to turn on the light. I've debated leaving every light on in the house just so you won't be scared.

Someday I hope you'll stop yelling at kitty but for now it keeps him on his toes. Literally.

Recently you started playing dress up and have to have "accessories" for every outfit. Luckily we have a bin of sunglasses, play jewelry, hats and even puffy ear muffs from Grandma D. You rock those the best! When you walk out on your blanket runway Daddy and I tell you what we love about your outfit and always give you a good score (but not too good because I try to remember to teach you there's always room for improvement.)

You're favorite thing to say is, "Can we do something fun?" even if we just spent a day at the park, went to play with your cousins or went swimming, which you do wonderfully now. Like I said, you keep us guessing at every turn.

I hope you are always silly, fun and wild. I hope that you're sensitive allows you to feel whole heartedly and that you will always be creative. I can't wait to see what this year holds for us.

Keep Loving. XOXO
