Well, we did it! We moved. We packed every single item we own into boxes and after only a few small hiccup (losing breaks on the U-haul & losing a helper), we moved! The puzzle pieces fit and the big picture is complete. (Read more about that reference here.) Now we're smack dab in apartment life again and honestly, it feels good.
The biggest hurtle we had to jump over is in the past now. We've managed to fit our essentials into our smaller space and ya know, it's easier now. Sifting through stuff we no longer need, don't use or stuff we don't necessarily even want anymore has helped simplify life. Believe me, we still have a lot of stuff but it's a work in progress and we're getting there.
The last few weeks have had their challenges including missing our neighbors, realizing that the one toy E is begging for is still packed in a box somewhere and slowly arranging things to find just a little bit more space here and there for stuff.
The last few weeks have been very rewarding as well. We have 3 grocery stores surrounding us so a trip to grab milk isn't a 45 minute trip anymore. We're closer to some friends and family so getting together happens a little more often and the best part, we fit! We might be maxing out our garage as storage until warmer weather arrives but we fit.
Okay, the best actually is that this place is starting to feel like home. Through the processes of deciding to sell the house, showings, accepting an offer, packing up and saying Goodbye to our home I kept telling myself home is where my family is. It's true. A huge life change tests your Faith, your strength and your patience. At least, it tested mine. I couldn't have done it without the support of my husband and family.
I knew as soon as E told me, "It's starting to feel like home, mama," I knew we made the right choice.
Keep loving.
